Husqvarna Svartpilen, and Mysterious `Real Street' Concept Machine Will Be at EICMA
Tue, 30 Oct 2018But wait, there’s more: Husqvarna has cordially invited the media also to the unveiling of a “thrilling concept machine” November 6 at the show. “Offering an exciting look into the future of Husqvarna Motorcycles’ pioneering ‘Real Street’ range, these sophisticated new models embrace the purity of motorcycle riding with timeless design and state-of-the art technology.”
Some at MO are guessing ‘Real Street’ might mean KTM lets Husqvarna into the big-boy parts bin where all the 1290 Super Duke R and Adventure Twin-cylinder motors are stored, since we’ve already got Svart- and Vitpilens powered by both Duke 390 and now 690 Singles. Or why not something packing the brand-new new 790 Duke parallel Twin? Maybe something in an electric Freeride Real Street machine?
Who knows? When you google Husqvarna Real Street, you get a profile of the Vienna-based fashion model and Vitpilen 701 rider Patrick Kafka, who’s Huskie’s Real Street Ambassador.
A snipper from the interview: Patrick takes us to a small local bar which seems to have been a venue for many a late night of fun for Viennese locals. Clearly evident from the outside, Elektro Gönner has many stories to tell and is the where we gather a few more insights from Patrick. We learn of his passion for carpentry and his role as a media guide at the famous Erzberg Rodeo. We also discover that he is one of those annoying people who doesn’t need to watch his weight, but instead uses off-road riding and ice hockey to keep in shape.
So who knows? A ‘Real Street’ concept machine could be anything from a Vitpilen in expensive designer clothing and an expensive watch, to a raging Supermoto like Huskies of old. If you’re dying to find out, tune in here for the live feed, November 6 at 2:20 pm Milan time.

My guess on the Real Street: a reskinned 1290 Super Duke.

That actually sounds pretty awesome. Provided they don’t turn it into a torture rack.

Think it is a cafe racer? Different suspension, different rake and trail, like the Vitplen. Maybe not a daily commuter, but dang that would be cool. A whole new take on the sportbike.
